Autorema was born in 1987 in Molina de Segura (Spain) with a clear mission to serve the needs of its customers, which at that time were mostly made up of companies in the canning industry of the area.  Prieto Industrys, Hernández Contreras, Hernández Pérez, Maximino Moreno,… were some of the customers with whom Autorema began to develop solutions for handling metal cans and food. Throughout a large part of the twentieth century the Murcia Region was known as “the Cradle of Vegetable Canned”. The sound environmental conditions and the large concentration of companies dedicated to conserving vegetables led to the products from this region being exported to half the world.

The company began to make a name for itself nationally within the manufacture of metallic containers industry and in canning industry. However, the ambitious nature of Autorema made it set other goals and it began to focus on foreign markets. In this way Autorema was a pioneer in its sector, on being one of the first companies to start to export machinery to countries in South America. In the first decade after the year 2000 the company managed to establish a solid market with container manufacturers in the southern cone. The number of employees had grown to nearly thirty and the name of Autorema was no longer heard just in Spain but was also on the map on the other side of the Atlantic. The experience gained in the canmaking industry was transferred to canning customers and vice versa. This gave Autorema an enormous lead over its competitors since we knew what needs our customers had from the beginning to the end of the supply chain, what the container manufacturers were like and what canning companies were like. A “philosophy” for handling metal cans began to be developed for both sectors (canmaking and canning). This role that Autorema played as a link between both sectors became decisive when its customers increased their competitivity.

Today, Autorema has a team of over 50 people among which there are 10 engineers and over 30 mechanical and electrical technicians which are trained to serve the needs customers have all over the world. Given the potential the company has, there are various sectors in which Autorema offers its experience in terms of automization of processes. The metal container industry, canning, packaging and logistics are the pillars on which the company rests, but there are more and more sectors that are beginning to rely on our solutions such as pharmaceuticals, meat-processing, sugar, …
